I was diagnosed with severe and chronic PTSD by the VA, and it was ruled that it was caused by “stressful events that took place from service in Vietnam.” The VA granted me treatment for this, but denied me a financial rating under 38 U.S.C. 5303(b) and Public Law 95-126. Searching for an American man wounded near Hue, close to the Laos border near Long Dong in April 1972. He was a paratrooper, shot in the lower leg. A 16-year old fighter for the VC found him and saved his life by applying a tourniquet torn from his shirt. The family still has the bed frame from the American. In 1969 I left Okinawa for ten days. We went to Vietnam and then into Laos where a camp was being built. A SF E5 named John was killed by a sniper. The other members of the team called him Buck and referred to me as The Kid, as I was the youngest. I hope to find anyone from that team who remembers me or the incident.
