Chapter 1105: Feeding Body & Soul

Bright and early Monday, March 29—National Vietnam War Veterans Day—members of Sussex, Delaware, Chapter 1105 gathered in Selbyville at the Mountaire Farms chicken processing plant to assemble Easter dinner packages for the needy in the community. The chapter’s participation was coordinated by President Joe Moore and Vice President Rodger Rose. In addition to the traditional roast chickens, potatoes, and vegetables, a brownie mix pack was included.

None know better than veterans the significance of a hot traditional meal during holidays, how it nurtures both body and soul.

Mountaire distributed shirts and provided packers with cookies, chips, hot coffee, and cold sodas. Chick-Fil-A contributed other snacks. This year’s event “was the most productive of those over the last five years that VVA 1105 has participated in,” Rose said.
