The family of Donald Godzala is looking for anyone who served with him during 1967-69. His MOS was Motor Vehicle Operator with Co. C, 3rd Eng. Bn., 3rd Marine Div. He was in Operation Dawson River, Dewey Canyon, and Scotland II. He was around Da Nang and the Rock Pile. The VA is looking for confirmation that he spent a lot of time in the sun and might have had sunburns. Looking for anyone who served with my father, CW2 Robert L. Roberts, on any of his three combat tours. He was a door gunner, 1962-64, with UTT Helo Co. (utility tactical). They were the first armed escorts in-country for the H-21 lift ships. He returned to Vietnam as a pilot, 1967-68 with the 128th. He lost photos and other mementos in a fire. Contact: David E. Searching for anyone with information about the 1969 Rolling Thunder recon insertion team, which was attacked by forty NVA south of Hanoi. A seven-member team from 1st Plt. Kilo, ¾ Third Marine Div. was flown in by a CH53. We covered the team while they ran to the helicopter. The team leader was shot in the leg and another member was shot in his shoulder and upper arm.
