The team leader was shot in the leg and another member was shot in his shoulder and upper arm. He arrived by helicopter around 8:30 and died around 11:15 a.m., fifty miles outside of Pleiku, having taken out a machine-gun position single-handedly during Operation Francis Marion, April 15-31, the Battle of Plei Doc. A letter was sent to his parents, along with a dozen anthuria purchased from Rusty’s Florist, signed by the men whose lives he saved. Contact: Edward J.
