The Great Duck Race

The annual VVA Beaver County, Pennsylvania, Chapter 862 Duck Race took place August 27 during the Hookstown Fair. Chapter members sold more than two thousand $5 tickets, and two thousand rubber ducks sailed down the temporarily flooded Hookstown Creek. The first duck to reach the end of the creek won its owner $1,000. An additional $1,400 in prize money was awarded. The balance will be applied to veterans projects.
