Veterans Health Council Report, November/December 2021 -   -

Staying Safe at the Convention

The Department of Veterans Affairs worked hard to help make VVA’s 20th National Convention safe for delegates, staff, and visitors. The VA supported the Convention by providing COVID-19 screening of all attendees as well as Rapid COVID-19 testing for veterans. The VA’s efforts ensured a safe and COVID-19-free environment.

As the Director of VVA’s Veterans Health Council, and on behalf of the VVA national leadership, I commend and thank Dr. Steven I. Lieberman, the VA Under Secretary for Health; Tammy Czarnecki, Deputy Assistant Under Secretary for Health Operations; and Joseph Vaughn, Director of the Salisbury, N.C., VA Medical Center.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer Hunt, the VSO Liaison at the VA’s Office of the Chief of Staff, and Scott Sanders of the Office of Emergency Management for their onsite work at the Convention.
