2021 Convention Time
The 2021 Project Friendship recipient is Combat Female Veterans Families United. We are proud to support female veterans, especially those who have been in combat situations and are often forgotten or even ignored. That is something that needs to stop. A veteran who has served this country honorably is a veteran. Done deal, drop the mic. It should never matter the gender, race, religion, or any other inane consideration. They are veterans, and all veterans should be treated with the same level of respect.
AVVA is proud to be working to help CFVFUnited, which per AVVA tradition, is based in the city of Greensboro, North Carolina, where the Convention will be held. Please go to www.avva.org/pf.html to read the Project Friendship informational flyer and for donation details. You can also find the link to CFVFUnited’s website on that page. Our goal this year is to best ourselves and raise $17,000. Please consider a donation.
Convention planning is coming along. The latest information can be found at www.avva.org/convention.html and www.avva.org/elections.html As of May 19, only 23 delegates had registered for the Convention.
I cannot emphasize this strongly enough: All AVVA delegate forms must be sent to the AVVA National Elections Chair, Nancy Montgomery (email@example.com), and not to the VVA National Office. Also, look carefully at the delegate registration forms. There are two different ones, depending on the status of the person registering. All AVVA members must use the AVVA Convention Registration Form, not the VVA Registration Form. The Convention registration is the one that you send to the National Office. The mailing information is written on the forms.
We look forward to seeing everyone for the first time in over two years. Please stay safe.
