A New Look

Our new website has launched. It has an entirely new look and contains additional information about membership and other AVVA news. We hope everyone finds it easy to use and more informative. Go to www.avva.org

Because we did not travel in April and will not travel to the canceled Leadership Conference, AVVA has donated $10,000 to Feeding America’s COVID-19 program. It was a good feeling to know that our money went to a good cause that will help people who need it.

Because we cannot hold the Leadership & Education Conference this year, people may be wondering about the annual awards. We will choose our award recipients just as we do every year, and we will let members know who received them. This is being done in lieu of announcing the winners at an annual luncheon. We want the award recipients to have as much public recognition as possible in this climate. They have earned it.

AVVA ELECTIONS: If you cannot hold an in-person election meeting before September 30, you may have one online (Contact VP Kaye Gardner at kayegardner@aol.com for details). If you have only one candidate for an office in your chapter or state, you may call the election by acclamation before September 30. Please go to our website for details. The usual deadlines for turning in election results will then take effect. They are listed in section 5 of the AVVA policy.

The National Board hopes that everyone is staying safe and hanging in there until our days can become more normal again. Bless you all.
