The Best Option for VVA's Future

I have written in the past about Mission 75, President Tom Burke’s plan for VVA’s future. Some members of the Board of Directors have different ideas about what our future as an organization should be, of course. Some feel VVA needs to close its doors; others feel we should adhere to the “last man standing” idea, which I do not believe is a viable organizational philosophy. Still others favor creating a different organization.

I believe Tom Burke’s Mission 75 plan offers the best answer to this very difficult question.

As veterans, we fought for ourselves and made the government recognize the issues it had created and needed to address. We did this for ourselves, and as a result, we did it for all generations of veterans who followed us.

VVA has a unique legacy that can continue to serve all veterans. By keeping that legacy and our identity alive, we can ensure that VVA continues beyond our lifetimes.

The Board of Directors is made up of elected regional directors and at-large directors. I encourage you to contact them and let them know how you feel about VVA’s future.
