Six Potential Paths

During the upcoming National Leadership & Education Conference, AVVA will not present an AVVA-oriented seminar. Instead, a VVA-AVVA joint committee has put together a seminar titled Six Choices for VVA’s Future.

As our joint committee completed the task of investigating the consolidation of VVA and AVVA, we discovered six potential paths to take. We subsequently developed this seminar to present facts, evidence, and roadmaps for those six options, allowing VVA and AVVA members to learned about their choices without bias or speculation. I hope you will join us on Wednesday afternoon.

Project Friendship is one of AVVA’s longest-running programs and it’s successful every year. The official kick-off took place during the National Board of Directors meeting in April. This year’s recipient is Operation Lifeline, which is located in the Jacksonville, Florida area.

Operation Lifeline’s core mission is to ensure that veterans and their families have access to safe, affordable homes. They address unsafe living conditions and critical home repairs so that veterans regain safety, stability, and peace of mind in their houses. They help with affordable housing and support services that help veterans transition from instability to independence and long-term success.

Operation Lifeline also provides transitioning servicemembers training in construction, project management, and other occupations. Operation Lifeline is a 501(c)(3) corporation.

Please help us with a contribution made payable to AVVA with “Project Friendship” noted on your donation. Mail our national office or bring your gift to the Leadership Conference in Jacksonville.

AVVA’s Mission Statement declares our goal is “To provide support to veterans and their families through programs, projects, and education.” Our continued goal is to focus on the welfare of veterans and military families by providing educational materials, seminars, face-to-face presentations, and online training for program facilitators and organizers.

If we can be of assistance in helping establish a local peer-support group or town hall training, please contact us.
