Project Friendship 2026

Project Friendship is one of AVVA’s longest-running programs and it proves to be successful every year. This year’s recipient is Operation Lifeline in Green Cove Springs, Florida. We announced the news during the National Board of Directors meeting in April.

Operation Lifeline’s core mission is to ensure that veterans and their families have access to safe, affordable homes where they can grow and thrive. In doing so, they address unsafe living conditions and critical repairs so that veterans regain safety, stability, and peace of mind in their homes. They also provide long-term, affordable housing with support services that help veterans transition from instability to independence, transitioning service members into roles in construction, project management, and other occupations through training sessions.

Operation Lifeline is a 501(c) (3) corporation. Please help us with a contribution made payable to AVVA with “Project Friendship” stated on your donation. Mail to our national office or bring your gift to the Leadership & Education Conference in Jacksonville in August. We began the search for the AVVA national award nominees in January. Please take the time to nominate someone for one of this year’s awards. Criteria for the awards and the nomination forms can be found on our website (www.avva.org). Don’t delay; the deadline is May 30 for nominees.

The winners will be announced during the AVVA Luncheon at the Leadership Conference. The recipient does not have to be present to win.

We have Paper Safes and Flag Booklets in stock. The order forms are on the AVVA website.

AVVA’s Vision Statement is to create a better everyday life for veterans and their families. This will be our focus during the remainder of the 2025-2027 term. Hope to see you in Jacksonville.
