My father found two lighters during his service in the Vietnam era at Camp Lejeune or at Camp Johnson, Camp Geiger, Marine Corps Air Station New River, or one of Camp Lejeune’s other satellite facilities. The lighters were probably found in a training area. One lighter is inscribed “TR Lawler, USMC, RVN 67-68” on one side and “make love, not war” on the other. The other lighter is a Zippo and is inscribed “Thomas” (first name begins with an “F,” but I can’t make out the rest of it) and has the USMC emblem on it.
