I am attempting to write a science fiction saga that will pose a hypothetical question and scenario: What would the Johnson administration have done, as early as 1964-65, had it possessed early information about a war that was doomed to ultimately end so catastrophically? For my book, I would like to hear from Vietnam veterans who served in combat in 1967-68, or right before the Tet Offensive. I would also like to obtain an actual draft notice. In the March/April issue, someone was looking for Chuck Morales, which is my name. I volunteered in Kansas City and went to Ft. Polk in 1971, and then to Ft. Eustis. I was in two helicopter schools, 67V20 and 67N20 (crew chief and door gunner). In 1972 they sent me to Schweinfurt, Germany, with D Trp., 3rd/7th Cav. Air Mobile. Need help for a claim. Trying to locate pilots who served in the Vietnam War in the early 1970s. I lost a ring while stationed at Tuy Hoa AFB, 1967. Before I shipped out, my mother gave me my deceased father’s ring. It was gold-plated with the letters “HWM” on it.
