Sibling Ceremony

Barry County (Missouri) Chapter 1023 participated in ceremonies at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora on May 27. A wreath was laid at the cemetery’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial by David Hermann and Dianne Hermann, brother and sister life members of the chapter. Missouri State Rep. Mike Moon was the featured speaker. The ceremony concluded with “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes and “Taps” on the bugle.

Kenneth Ackley built the memorial, using his own funds, private donations, and contributions from Chapter 1023. A plaque presented to Ackley by Chapter 1023 in recognition of his efforts was placed inside the Memorial.
